Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of MyMeetly — the app, the website, and the account behind them. By creating an account, you agree to them.

1. What MyMeetly is

MyMeetly notifies you when someone you've mutually added to your loop is within a distance you've set, and helps you plan meetups and split shared costs with them. It is not a public social network, a dating app, a background-check service, or a safety-monitoring service. MyMeetly does not verify the identity, criminal history, or intentions of any user.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to create a MyMeetly account, and you must sign in with your own Apple ID. You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. MyMeetly is not intended for children under 17, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts or collect their information.

3. Your loop, your responsibility

You may only add people you actually know and have a real relationship with to your loop. Adding someone does not grant you their location — matching only activates when they've also added you. Attempting to use MyMeetly to locate, monitor, or contact someone without their knowledge or consent is a violation of these terms and may violate the law.

4. Meeting up — your safety is your responsibility

MyMeetly can suggest meetup locations and notify you when a loop member is nearby, but whether, when, and where to meet another person is entirely your own decision. We strongly recommend meeting in public places, telling someone else your plans, and trusting your judgment if something feels off. MyMeetly is not responsible for what happens during or as a result of any meetup, plan, or interaction arranged through the app, including between people who were already mutual contacts before using MyMeetly.

5. Group plans, messages, bill splitting, and shared photos

Plans, group messages, expenses, and settlement amounts you create are visible to the other participants in that specific plan. You are responsible for the content of the messages and information you share. MyMeetly calculates suggested settlements between participants but does not process, hold, transfer, or guarantee any money — you settle up with each other directly, outside the app, and MyMeetly is not a party to and bears no responsibility for those payments or any disputes about them. If you use shared photos for a plan, those photos are stored via Apple's CloudKit in each participant's own iCloud account, not on MyMeetly's servers, and are governed by Apple's iCloud terms in addition to these.

6. Location and background use

MyMeetly's core function requires location access, including while the app is in the background, to notify you promptly. You can disable this at any time in iOS Settings, which will stop proximity notifications from working. Location accuracy depends on your device and isn't guaranteed to be exact or instantaneous.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use MyMeetly to harass, stalk, threaten, or harm another person; to send abusive, threatening, or unlawful content through group messages or any other feature; to misrepresent your identity; to add or attempt to track someone without a genuine mutual relationship; to access another user's account or data; to use the service if you are a registered sex offender; or to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service.

8. Reporting and enforcement

If another user makes you feel unsafe or violates these terms, contact us immediately (see Support, below) — include as much detail as you can. We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, at our discretion, without prior notice where safety is a concern.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

MEETLY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT PROXIMITY DETECTION, NOTIFICATIONS, OR MEETUP SUGGESTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE, TIMELY, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEETLY AND ITS OPERATORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, OR ANY HARM ARISING FROM YOUR INTERACTIONS, MEETUPS, OR FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS WITH OTHER USERS, WHETHER OR NOT WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (WHICH FOR MOST USERS ON A FREE PLAN IS $0).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyMeetly and its operators from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your interactions with other users.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MyMeetly's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or the app will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us; if that fails, disputes will be resolved through binding individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. You waive any right to participate in a class action.

13. Account termination

You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your profile, loop entries, saved places, and location history. Because shared photos live in each participant's own iCloud account rather than on MyMeetly's servers (see Section 5), deleting your account does not remove photos you've already shared with others this way. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and notify you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use MyMeetly after that means you accept the updated terms.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
